Camp and Furnace presents PÄRK
August Bank Holiday 25 26 27
“A long weekend in the city’s only indoor park”
“Staying in the city is the new going away”
For one long weekend Camp and Furnace provides the perfect city-break all under one rather large roof.
On Saturday 25, warming up for the weekend will be Holy Other, Vessel and Fort Romeau in the Blade Factory presented by Deep Hedonia, LMW and Detour Jam, this will be a ticketed event.
Then from midday on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday, The Furnace, the venue’s cavernous indoor park, will be transformed into a FREE ‘scandi-summer’ festival, offering an authentic and alternative experience to your customary end of August offering.
Guaranteed to be uninterrupted by this year’s seesaw summer a Scandinavian flavored jam-packed programme of entertainment will be served up across the weekend providing the perfect stay at home getaway – with something to suit everyone’s taste, from daytime into night.
Recreating the idyllic landscape of a Scandinavian summer. Food features heavily in festivities, and PÄRK -goers will be able to construct their own picnic boxes from Scandi- favourites, designed to share with family and friends.
Sample the Salmon and Aquavit bar; offering a variety of home-cured and smoked salmon, served with ice-cold shots of the famous Nordic spirit.
As evening falls, the more adventurous can venture into the Birch Forest and take the plunge in a hot tub, with luxury packages also available which include waiter service.*
The infamous Santa Chupito’s will provide the perfect refreshing accompaniment, mixing up a stylish selection of Scandi-inspired cocktails with strong, clean and aromatic flavours.
Camp and Furnace’s very own Brown Bear also has its own bar for the first time, where guests can try the venue’s own label beer, which starts life on the premises.
Take home something new from the summer designer/maker fair and pop-up print exhibition featuring local artists.
Get involved by joining a craft workshop or playing a game of Kubb, a classic Viking game, played for over 1000 years on the Baltic island of Gotland.
PÄRK’s musical offerings follow a similarly eclectic programme.
On the Sunday, Camp And Furnace have teamed up with Deep Hedonia to provide the perfect tailor-made musical accompaniment.
By day discover a number of Liverpool’s most intriguing new artists, far away from the typical Mersey sound, instead acts like Beluga, Patterns in the Ivy and Sing for your Supper veer into glacial experimentalism and sample global flavours.
There will be an evening of jaw-dropping dance music, with Jam City and patten as two of UK’s biggest upcoming acts, providing a taste of the European festival experience.
On Bank Holiday Monday Camp & Furnace and Mellowtone present a collection of soothing sounds. Prepare yourselves for a laid back final day in the PÄRK – where Scandinavia meets Liverpool, delivered through a Mellowtone filter.
